Priory Park Infant School

Learning Together with Care and Respect

Inclusion and SEND

Here at Priory Park Infant School we are committed to providing all children with an inclusive learning environment, where they are able access to all aspects of school life, regardless of any additional needs or disabilities they may have. We aim to provide a nurturing environment where all children are supported to succeed.

Our Inclusion Team brings together a wealth of experience and specialist training to support the needs of children at Priory Park. Team members work together with all members of the school community to overcome barriers to learning, celebrate differences and nurture individuality, whilst providing continuous opportunities for success.

At Priory Park Infant School, we are fully committed to inclusion and continue to develop innovative and effective systems of support, which are underpinned by a strong inclusive ethos. This ethos respects and values individual difference; capitalises and builds on strengths; celebrates success and achievement; recognises, understands and responds supportively to individual needs and limitations and continually reviews and revises practice in order to ensure the highest possible standard of provision.

If your child has a SEND, their needs will fall into one or more of the following 4 areas:

*Communication and Interaction

*Cognition and Learning

*Social, Emotional and Mental Health

*Sensory and/or Physical

If you have any concerns about your child's individual needs, please speak to your child's class teacher in the first instance, who will liaise with the SENCo and wider inclusion team.
