Priory Park Infant School

Learning Together with Care and Respect

Inclusion and SEND

Here at Priory Park Infant School we are committed to providing all children with an inclusive learning environment, where they are able access to all aspects of school life. We aim to provide a nurturing environment where all children are supported to succeed and feel proud of their achievements.

Our Inclusion Team brings together a wealth of experience and specialist training to support the needs of children at Priory Park. Team members work together with all members of the school community to overcome barriers to learning, celebrate differences and nurture individuality, whilst providing continuous opportunities for success.

At Priory Park Infant School, we have a range of systems and processes in place to support children's individual needs. A child's Special Educational Needs will fall into one or more of 4 categories: Cognition and Learning, Sensory and Physical, Social Interaction and Communication, and Social Emotional. We have a range of interventions and provisions in place in school to support these needs such as sensory circuits, sensory breaks, time in our Nurture Classroom, Attention Autism, ERT, Lego Therapy and ELSA. Mrs Moroney is also training to be a Play Therapist and carries out Play Therapy with some of our children. Our staff are highly skilled in implementing trauma informed approaches to support and nurture children's holistic development. In addition to this, we have a highly skilled nurture team in school who are available to support children for a range of reasons from bereavement to anxiety. Please speak to one of the Inclusion Team if you wish to access more support for your child.

If you have any concerns about your child's individual needs, please speak to your child's class teacher in the first instance, who will liaise with the SENCo and wider inclusion team. To contact our SENCo Mrs York directly, please email: senco@park.cambs.sch.uk
