Prevent Duty

All schools in England and Wales have been issued with guidance to enable them to fulfill their duty in the Counter-Terrorism and Security Act 2015 -  to have due regard to the need to prevent people from being drawn into terrorism.

Please read our Prevent Strategy Action Plan. This outlines the actions we are taking to ensure we fulfill our role, and build a strong school community for all. The Parent Leaflet provides a brief overview of the Prevent Duty. Please note: our duty is NOT to teach children about extremism and terrorism but to prevent this from happening now or in later life by building a culture of democracy, tolerance and respect for others and for differences in society as part of British Values.
