Our Learning Environment
Rainbow Playgroup
The Rainbow Learning Environment is for our younger children and, for the majority of children, the first time they will have experienced having to share a caring adult and share toys with their peers. Learning in Rainbow Playgroup focuses on the Prime Areas of the EYFS, developing their social skills, independence, physical skills and communication skills.
Sunshine Pre-School
The Sunshine Learning Environment is for our older children in the year before they transition to Primary School. Emphasis is on developing their love of learning through the Characteristics of Effective Learning and the Prime and Specific Areas of the EYFS, developing their literacy and numeracy skills together with strengthening social, independence, physical and communication skills.
Outdoor Learning
The Rainbow Playgroup and Sunshine Pre-School share an outdoor learning environment. With a wide range of open ended materials they learn to use their imagination and manage their own risk, sharing and taking pride in their developing skills with their friends.
Forest School
Exciting News! May 2021 Our Forest School is now available to all Sunshine Pre-School children who will have the opportunity to visit the Imaginarium introducing them to a wide variety of Forest School activities and experiences. In the Spring and Summer Term Rainbow Playgroup children will be introduced to the environment for short periods in preparation for their Pre-School year.
Where is the Imaginarium?
The Imaginarium is less than 50 metres from playgroup. It is an enclosed space with lots of trees and other plants.
